Amy Wagner PhD

Dr. Wagner obtained her Ph.D. under the mentorship of Dr. Marsha Linehan and has practiced, taught, and supervised DBT for over 20 years.  She also has clinical expertise in cognitive-behavioral therapies for PTSD, including Prolonged Exposure and Cognitive Processing Therapy.  Her writing and teaching on applications of DBT to trauma-related problems comes from her extensive experience treating individuals with severe emotion dysregulation and PTSD.  Throughout her career she has also pursued treatment development and evaluation research and is currently examining the effectiveness and acceptability of Behavioral Activation Therapy for the treatment of PTSD and depression among veterans as an alternative to trauma-processing therapies.  She has conducted numerous trainings and workshops on DBT, nationally and internationally.
