About Us – 

Portland DBT Institute is the oldest free-standing DBT clinic in the world and has held DBT-LBC certification since 2017. Located in Portland, Oregon and serving communities throughout Oregon state, PDBTI is a vibrant clinic community providing comprehensive DBT clinical services, training, supervision, and consultation throughout the United States and internationally. Directed by DBT experts Linda DimeffPhD and Andrew White PhD, ABPP, PDBTI is the oldest and among the largest freestanding outpatient DBT clinics in the world, serving over 1,500 clients annually. Portland DBT Institute is hiring full-time Licensed Therapists (LPC, LCSW, LMFT, PsyD, PhD)!

Portland DBT Institute regularly reviews applications for full-time, licensed therapists. PDBTI is now actively hiring to grow several of its core programs; all applicants will be considered independently from one another. Applicants must be licensed or license-eligible in the state of Oregon at the time of application. DBT experience is not required, but a commitment to learning DBT and achieving fidelity is expected.

As a DBT clinician, you will provide comprehensive assessment services, individual therapy, and phone coaching, with the opportunity to lead skills training groups of your own. Join us remotely or at one of our Oregon offices, located in Portland and Medford. Typical hours are 8-5 Pacific; flexibility is dependent on client availability.

Compensation and Benefits – 

  • Payment is on a fee-for-service basis; established providers average approximately $105,000 after their start-up year (estimate only, based on productivity)
  • Start-up stipend of $12,000 (over three months) or option to take a first year salary of $70,000 before moving to fee-for-service model

  • Case consultation and expert supervision 
  • Administrative support for insurance credentialing, billing, and prior authorizations
  • Administrative staff manage client referrals and assist clients with pre-treatment paperwork 

Requirements –  

  • Master’s degree or higher in social work, psychology, counseling, or related field 
  • Current, unrestricted Oregon state license (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or Psychologist) or license-eligible  
  • Demonstrated commitment to DBT and/or other evidence-based practices 
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check, verification in exclusions databases, and other relevant primary source verifications

Portland DBT Institute is hiring a full-time Marketing Associate!

Reporting to a member of the executive team or their representative, the Marketing Associate will play a key role in expanding awareness of PDBTI’s clinical services, training division, and driving referrals. This individual will execute outreach efforts, build relationships with providers and organizations, and contribute to marketing initiatives that support patient growth and organizational impact.

The successful candidate will be highly relational, goal-oriented, comfortable operating independently while aligning with organizational priorities, quick, and a natural problem-solver.

Key Responsibilities

Outreach & Relationship Development

  • Conduct proactive outreach (including cold calls, emails, and networking) to healthcare providers, referral sources, and community organizations
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clinicians, hospitals, and behavioral health systems
  • Represent PDBTI’s services clearly and compellingly to external audiences
  • Identify and pursue new partnership and referral opportunities


Marketing Execution

  • Support development and execution of marketing campaigns and initiatives
  • Assist in creating written materials, including emails, outreach messaging, and promotional content
  • Help coordinate events, trainings, and community engagement efforts
  • Ensure consistent and accurate communication of clinical services and offerings


Performance Tracking & Accountability

  • Independently track outreach activity, pipeline, and results
  • Monitor progress toward goals and adjust strategies as needed
  • Provide regular updates to leadership on performance and opportunities
  • Maintain organized records of contacts and outreach efforts


Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with clinical, training, and leadership teams to understand services and priorities
  • Translate clinical offerings into clear, accessible messaging for external audiences
  • Support special projects and initiatives as assigned



Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required (Psychology, Social Work, Behavioral Health, Marketing, or related field preferred)
  • 1–3 years of experience in marketing, outreach, sales, or behavioral health settings preferred
  • Familiarity with behavioral health systems, terminology, or patient populations is a strong plus

Portland DBT Institute is hiring full-time Billing Specialist!

The Billing Specialist will be responsible for detailed behavioral health receivable work, under the direct supervision of the Billing Manager. This role will operate remotely and requires reliable internet access. A phone line will be provided via Zoom software. Candidates must be located in the United States and able to maintain strict HIPAA compliance in their remote workspace.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • $24.27-$25.00, hourly.
  • Benefits include fully paid medical, dental, vision, and life insurances as well as a 401k with employer match.

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
Specific duties of the Billing Specialist will include researching and addressing claim denials from insurance companies, resubmitting corrected claims, handling the insurance aging reports, and entering incoming insurance payments into relevant systems. The Billing Specialist will also be required to assist clients directly over the phone, clarifying billing practices and balance statements. This role will also assist with processing client credit card on file payments.
