COURSE DESCRIPTION
This 3-hour workshop will review DBT-consistent contingencies for continuing, pausing, or ending treatment. Attendees will have the chance to consider their own and their clients’ therapy-interfering behaviors as related to termination, role play difficult conversations and gain practical tips on laying foundations early (orient, orient, orient!) to increase confidence and competence in the skill of effective treatment termination.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this training, participants will be able to:
- Identify at least 2 components of an effective treatment contract that support eventual termination
- Name at least 1 ethical consideration when considering termination and 1 ethical consideration when considering extension
- Describe 2 reasons why clinicians may avoid discussions of termination and the appropriate DBT skills that can be used to address this barrier

CONTINUING EDUCATION HOURS


Participants who complete the entire training will earn 3 CE hours. Partial credits will not be available.

CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS
A $60.00 handling fee will be deducted upon cancellation. Refund requests by email must be received two weeks before the start date.
PDBDTI reserves the right to cancel any program due to under-enrollment, work stoppages, instructor illness, or inclement weather. If a course is cancelled, PDBTI is responsible for refunding only the course fee.
