Melissa was born and raised in New Mexico before relocating to the Pacific NW in 2004. She has a special fondness for green chile enchiladas and carne adovada which her husband is kind enough to cook for her from time to time. She has grown to love the Pacific NW and managed to convince other family members to move to the area. She is a fan of the Portland Timbers and enjoys exploring different walking trails in Oregon. She knew at an early age she wanted to be a psychologist and attended graduate school at Pacific University where she earned a doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology. She joined Portland DBT Institute in 2013 and feels privileged to be a part of a community that is so passionate about providing effective and compassionate treatment. She a licensed clinical psychologist on the Adolescent and Family team.
