Emilee completed her PhD in clinical psychology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and completed her pre-doctoral residency at the Nova Scotia Health Authority. During her PhD, she also spent one year as a visiting clinical researcher with the Eating Disorders Research Group at King’s College London Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology, and Neuroscience. Emilee’s professional experience and interest is in treating eating disorders, borderline personality disorder, and associated problems such as depression, anxiety, and difficulties with emotional regulation. Emilee has published a number of peer-reviewed articles on the development, treatment, and assessment of eating and weight disorders; she is also interested in expanding her research to include other disorders of emotional dysregulation. Some of Emilee’s personal interests include music, dance, and watching funny cat videos. At Portland DBT Institute, Emilee is a member of the Pathways to Mindful Eating Team.
